Sumrall Coaching

PURPOSE-BUILT HUMAN DEVELOPMENT SYSTEMS

Understand the person beneath the performance.

Sumrall Coaching applies Personal Design Intelligence through software-based systems created for Education, Athletics, and Athletic Transition. Each system serves a distinct audience while remaining grounded in the same Human Development philosophy.

A clearer picture of this moment—not a permanent definition.

People change. Environments change. Needs, motivations, pressures, and patterns can change with them.

Sumrall Coaching systems provide point-in-time understanding. Reports are designed to help leaders recognize current patterns and make more intentional decisions. They do not diagnose, predict success, or permanently define a person.

THE METHOD

Personal Design Intelligence

Personal Design Intelligence is the intentional process of discovering, understanding, and applying a person’s unique design to improve how they learn, lead, compete, build relationships, and live.

  1. 1

    Listen to meaningful responses.

  2. 2

Organize patterns across the person and environment.

  3. 3

Translate those patterns into understandable insight.

  4. 4

Equip the right people with practical recommendations.

  5. 5

Revisit understanding as people and circumstances change.

Personal Design Intelligence supports human judgment. It does not replace professional, educational, medical, psychological, or clinical evaluation.

SSMS · Institutional Inquiry

Institutional Inquiry

See the student beyond academic performance.

The Student Success Mapping System™ helps district and school leaders understand students in grades 6–12 at a point in time. It organizes student responses into practical insight for the leaders responsible for schoolwide, building-level, and individual support.

SSMS is designed to help leaders see patterns that traditional performance data may not reveal on its own. The system supports more intentional conversations, decisions, and developmental responses without permanently labeling students.

Three levels of understanding

District

A district-level view helps superintendents recognize broad patterns across participating schools and consider systemwide opportunities for support and development.

School

A school-level view helps principals and designated leaders understand patterns within the participating student population and identify practical areas for attention.

Student

An individual report helps the student and supporting adults understand current motivations, strengths, needs, and developmental opportunities in clear language.

Who SSMS is for

  • Students in grades 6–12
  • Superintendents
  • Principals
  • Counselors and designated student-support leaders
  • Teachers and parents when included through the school’s approved process

Privacy and participation context

SSMS is designed to operate without student names or direct student contact information. Participating schools use numeric Student IDs, and participation context is presented so aggregate findings are interpreted responsibly. Schools remain responsible for their own notices, permissions, records, and lawful use of the reports.

Student responses are not intended to become permanent labels. The most recent student report supersedes the prior report, and Sumrall Coaching removes student response data according to the approved annual service cycle.

THE COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT

Athletes are people before they are performers.

Competitive environments carry their own language, relationships, pressures, roles, and demands. Athletic development requires more than transferring an education system into a locker room.

CPMS and CPMS College are purpose-built for the competitive environment. They help athletic leaders understand the people beneath performance while respecting the realities of teams, programs, position groups, and competition.

CPMS · Coming Summer 2027

Coming Summer 2027

Understand the athlete. Strengthen the environment. Develop with greater intention.

The Competitive Performance Mapping System™ is being created for athletes in grades 6–12 and the leaders who develop them. CPMS will provide point-in-time understanding at the program, team, and athlete levels.

Planned levels of understanding

Program

Help athletic directors and program leaders recognize patterns across the participating athletic environment.

Team

Help head coaches understand current team patterns and consider how communication, relationships, motivation, and development may be strengthened.

Athlete

Help individual athletes and the approved adults supporting them understand the person beneath competitive performance.

Availability

CPMS is coming Summer 2027. Institutional leaders may begin an Inquiry to discuss their environment and future interest. Availability should never be represented as current until the system is operationally approved.

Competitive Performance Mapping System™ College · Coming Soon

Coming Soon

Whole-person understanding for the college athletic environment.

CPMS College is being created for college athletes and the athletic personnel responsible for developing them. It will bring Personal Design Intelligence into the distinct pressures, relationships, expectations, and transitions of college athletics.

Planned levels of understanding

Program

A consolidated view designed to help head coaches and authorized athletic leaders understand meaningful patterns across the participating program.

Team or Position Group

Focused insight designed for the leaders directly responsible for smaller groups within the program.

Individual Athlete

A whole-person report designed to help the athlete and approved athletic personnel understand current strengths, motivations, needs, and developmental opportunities.

Implementation

CPMS College will begin with a direct Sumrall Coaching presentation, assessment facilitation, and appropriate institutional coordination. Final report names and implementation details will be published only after approval.

NextChapter

Assessment & Resources — Coming Soon

You are more than the sport you played.

NextChapter is being created for former college and professional athletes navigating life beyond competitive sport. It approaches transition as a whole-person experience involving identity, structure, belonging, purpose, strengths, and direction.

No institutional meeting is required. The assessment and resources are still in development.

The right beginning depends on the environment.

Institutional systems

SSMS, CPMS, and CPMS College begin with a conversation. The meeting allows Sumrall Coaching and the institutional leader to understand the environment, confirm fit, and determine appropriate next steps before implementation.

Individual transition

NextChapter is designed as an individual, self-directed experience for former college and professional athletes. It does not require an institutional Inquiry or meeting.
